Elite Defence Academy Melkbosstrand | Tableview | Sunningdale offers Krav Maga training for teens and adults of all ages, as well as Kids Krav Maga for children. Our Krav Maga training is safe and professional, and our classes are extremely beginner-friendly and supportive.
Our weekly classes are held at Atlantic Beach Golf Estate in Melkbos as well as at Tableview Junior School. We also offer onsite Krav Maga training across a number of primary and high schools, and to corporate groups across the Western Cape.
Private, one-on-one Krav Maga training is also offered.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS
The Senior Krav Maga instructor at Melkbosstrand, and Senior Instructor for the Cape Town region, is Paul de Roubaix, who is an experienced, certified Krav Maga instructor under the auspices of Elite Defence Academy International.
Paul teaches in partnership with Shareen de Roubaix, who is also a fully certified Krav Maga instructor, teaching adults and children across all walks of life.
Paul has been involved with several other martial arts and boxing over the years, and he brings these strengths and perspectives to his style of teaching the EDA Krav Maga syllabus in a way that is practical, easy to learn, and powerful.

Our members are women and men of all ages, from all walks of life, and we welcome everybody. You don't need to have any prior experience or be "in shape" at all - just come as you are, and we'll show you how easy it is to learn great self-defence skills, have fun, and gain confidence and ability as you do.
Learning Krav Maga is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself, both for your own safety and peace of mind, and for the safety of your loved ones.

We offer private training to individuals and couples, at times which fall outside of regular class sessions, by arrangement.

YOU'RE IN GOOD HANDS
Paul and Shareen de Roubaix are a dynamic couple who are passionate about equipping men and women of all ages for a safer and more confident life.
Paul, a certified Krav Maga instructor under the auspices of Elite Defence Academy International, runs and oversees the Melkbosstrand Krav Maga club. Shareen, also a certified Krav Maga trainer, and assists Paul with club activities, corporate workshops, and the EDA Kids Krav Maga program offered at Melbosstrand and in schools across the Western Cape.
For gender-specific training workshops, where a couple may be required, or a female audience may relate more comfortably to a female trainer, Shareen is not only highly skilled and experienced, but empathetic and approachable.
Paul and Shareen are ably assisted by certified Krav Maga instructor Josh de Roubaix, who is also a champion kickboxer, karate world champion, and MMA competitor.
VISIT A CLUB / BOOK A LOOK-IN SESSION
To visit a club for a look-in session, it's best to book a date so that we can allocate time to personally showing you what we offer, answering any questions, and generally helping you feel at home. Our culture is extremely visitor-friendly and beginner-friendly, and all are welcome.

DRESS CODE
Just dress casually, as you would to go to the gym or to take a walk. Loose, comfortable clothing is best, along with sneakers or similar footwear.
Should you decide to enrol with us, an official EDA Krav Maga T-Shirt is supplied upon enrolment and payment of your registration fee. Should you wish to, you can order additional shirts and other apparel at any stage, as well as official training pants, etc.
SIGNING UP
If you like what you see and would like to join us, the procedure is simple:
We provide you with an enrolment form and member agreement form, which needs to be filled in, signed, and returned before your first official class.
Our member agreement form stipulates a 12-month membership, with fees paid monthly, in advance. At the end of the 12-month membership, your membership will be presumed to renew automatically unless you stipulate otherwise. Also, after the initial twelve months, should you need to cease training, you can do so with 30 days' written notice at any time.

OUR SATURDAY MORNING WORKSHOPS
We offer small-group Krav Maga workshops every Saturday by arrangement. These are ideal for families, groups of friends, or colleagues, and in order for us to facilitate a workshop, a minimum booking of 10 people is required.
These Krav Maga workshops are an ideal way to get basic training in essential skills that are easy to learn in a once-off session, and which are designed to to ensure your safety and the safety of your loved ones.
SCHOOLS AND CORPORATES
SCHOOLS: We offer personal safety and self defense training to schools across age groups.
The training can take the form of once-off workshops, or regular scheduled sessions that can be accommodated as an extramural or as part of a school's LO program.
The training is safe and age-appropriate, and is designed to build confidence, practical skill, and the ability to respond appropriately in any scenario, from a bullying situation to a social danger or criminal threat.
CORPORATES: We offer a wide range of workshops and regular session training to corporate clients. Our once-off workshops include topics like anti-hijacking, women's self defense, office and home personal safety, dealing with hostile or aggressive individuals, and more.
We also offer weekly or monthly onsite staff training programs, where participants are taught a wide range of skills, from crime awareness and avoidance to physical self defense, conflict management, self-confidence, and much more.
