KRAV MAGA CLASSES IN BEDFORDVIEW
KRAV MAGA IN BEDFORDVIEW
Elite Defence Academy Bedfordview offers Krav Maga training for adults of all ages, and teens from 14 years upward. Our Krav Maga training is safe, professional, and our classes are extremely beginner-friendly and supportive.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
The instructor at the Bedfordview club is Des Brown, who is the Founder of Elite Defence Academy International.
Des is a military veteran with 35 years of martial arts experience, and 15 years of teaching Krav Maga at a high level. The EDA International group offers training within South Africa and in 7 other countries, as well as numerous other countries via our online video tutorial training system.
"My vision for Elite Defence Academy International is to ensure, first and foremost, that we're a home for people seeking intelligent self defense training in a friendly and supportive environment. We know that our system of Krav Maga has proven itself superbly over the years, and that it's practical and to the point - no politics, no egos, no stale traditions, and most importantly, no false claims.
It doesn't matter who you are - you're welcome to join us, and we treat everyone with care and respect. Above all, the purpose of Krav Maga should be to equip people to live peaceably, with greater confidence, and to work toward a better society and a better world for everyone.
The physical self defense skills are great - and absolutely necessary if you need to use them - but there's far more to Krav Maga than that. When you join us, you become part of a worldwide family of likeminded people who freely share their knowledge, their time, and their energy with you.
We would love to welcome you. All you have to do is to take that first step, and visit us."
Our members are women and men of all ages, from all walks of life, and we welcome everybody. You don't need to have any prior experience or be "in shape" at all - just come as you are, and we'll show you how easy it is to learn great skills, have fun, and gain confidence and ability as you do.
Learning Krav Maga is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself, both for your own safety and peace of mind, and for the safety of your loved ones.

VISIT A CLUB / BOOK A LOOK-IN SESSION
To visit a club for a look-in session, it's best to book a session so that we can allocate time to personally showing you what we offer, answering any questions, and generally helping you feel at home.
Simply book below or pop us a text / WhatsApp on 076 533 9715 to touch base and let us know.
Our culture is extremely visitor-friendly and beginner-friendly, and all are welcome.
Just dress casually, as you would to go to the gym or to take a walk. Loose, comfortable clothing is best, along with sneakers or similar footwear.
Should you decide to enrol with us, an official EDA Krav Maga T-Shirt must be purchased and worn. Should you wish to, you can order additional shirts and other apparel at any stage, as well as official training pants, etc.
If you like what you see and would like to join us, the procedure is simple:
We provide you with the link to our online enrolment and member agreement form, which can be filled in quickly and easily wherever you are.
Our member agreement form stipulates a 6-month membership, with fees paid monthly. At the end of the 6-month membership, your membership will be presumed to renew automatically unless you stipulate otherwise. Also, after the initial six months, should you need to cease training, you can do so with a month's written notice at anytime.
At present, we are required by law to adhere to certain safety protocols, and we ensure that these are met. These include:
- Wearing of masks during indoor training. (We conduct training inside the hall and sometimes outside on the lawn, depending on weather.)
- If you suspect you may be experiencing any Covid-like symptoms (elevated temperature, cough, flu-type symptoms, etc) it's prudent to rather avoid class until you're reasonably sure that you don't pose a risk to others. (This may entail self-isolating for 7-10 days, or undergoing a Covid-19 test if you feel it is necessary.)
These measures may be revised or discarded as the governmental restriction status changes or as permission becomes available to do so.
You're most welcome to contact us if you'd like more specific information.
