KRAV MAGA IN BEDFORDVIEW
Elite Defence Academy Bedfordview offers Krav Maga training for adults of all ages, and teens from 14 years upward. Our Krav Maga training is safe, professional, and our classes are extremely beginner-friendly and supportive.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
The instructor at EDA Benoni is Rob Paynter, who is also the Chief Instructor of Elite Defence Academy International.
Rob started out as one of Elite Defence Academy’s youngest Krav Maga instructors. He began training with the intention of simply learning a form of basic self-defence, but quickly realised that he had a natural aptitude for the movements and principles contained in the EDA Krav Maga Evolution system.
Devoting himself to training, he progressed rapidly, assisting with classes and learning as much as he could from a number of instructors. He underwent the EDA instructor course a decade ago, demonstrating a high level of ability as he equipped himself for the task of training students. After progressing through the ranks, demonstrating advanced skill and insight, and having served as Elite Defence Academy's International Head Of Syllabus, Rob was awarded the role of International Chief Instructor for EDA in 2021.
I believe learning practical self defense is an essential life skill," says Rob. "It's like learning CPR or basic fire safety - you not only know what to do in a crisis, but you have the tools to prevent a crisis from occurring, too."
Rob teaches practitioners at all levels, and offers insights born from years of experience as a skilled instructor. His approach is often humorous and personable, and he teaches at both the Bedfordview and Benoni EDA clubs - including a popular kids' class in Benoni.
"Everyone is welcome," says Rob. "For beginners, this is a great way to learn the basics of personal safety in an environment that's supportive and friendly - but that also teaches you what works in reality."
YOU'RE WELCOME
Our members are women and men of all ages, from all walks of life, and we welcome everybody. You don't need to have any prior experience or be "in shape" at all - just come as you are, and we'll show you how easy it is to learn great skills, have fun, and gain confidence and ability as you do.
Learning Krav Maga is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself, both for your own safety and peace of mind, and for the safety of your loved ones.

Wednesdays from 7pm to 8pm.

1st Bedfordview Scout Hall, corner of Florence Ave & Disa Rd, Bedfordview.
VISIT A CLUB / BOOK A LOOK-IN SESSION
To visit a club for a look-in session, it's best to book a session so that Rob can allocate time to personally showing you what our system offers, answer any questions, and explain the broad concepts of what EDA does.
To arrange a look-in, simply pop Rob a text / WhatsApp on 082 822 9695 to touch base and let him know you're coming.
Our culture is extremely visitor-friendly and beginner-friendly, and all are welcome.
DRESS CODE
Just dress casually, as you would to go to the gym or to take a walk. Loose, comfortable clothing is best, along with sneakers or similar footwear.
Should you decide to enrol with us, an official EDA Krav Maga T-Shirt must be purchased and worn. Should you wish to, you can order additional shirts and other apparel at any stage, as well as official training pants, etc.
SIGNING UP

We provide you with the link to our online enrolment and member agreement form, which can be filled in quickly and easily wherever you are.
Fees are paid monthly in advance. Should you need to cease training, you can do so with a month's written notice at any time.

Couple / Buddy Rate: R590 per person per month
Family of 3: R1550 per family per month
Student rate: R520 per person per month
10-Session Class Bundle: R1650 once-off purchase
